As a traveller and travel entrepreneur, I am often on the lookout for places where I can invest in a business. I’ve been to various Southeast Asian Countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia. However, the one country that grabbed my attention as soon as I landed and understood the business culture was Vietnam.
Every country in the world has something to offer when it comes to business, but each one is unique. From the perspective of a tourist, the country immediately grabbed my attention with its vibrant colour, sound, beautiful places, cheap and delicious foods, and friendly people. Honestly, it didn’t take me much to realize that Vietnam would be a great place to do business related to tourism, even more so when I realized that the government has been working very hard to make business more and more systematic.
Every business undertaking, even a business takeover can flourish as the country continues to introduce business policies that are friendly to entrepreneurs like me.
Vietnam gave me some realisations that made me choose to invest in a business here. Some of them include the following:
1. Friendly People
Whenever Vietnamese people saw me, I noticed that they were always smiling, trying to make me feel welcomed. I experienced this when I checked in at my hotel and whenever I visited any restaurants. Their warm welcome makes you want to be their customer. Even if you’re not hungry, you would be pleased to enter restaurants, even just to have some coffee or tea.
With the different flavours, herbs, and spices Vietnam offered, I couldn’t resist but try as much food as I can. After all, who wouldn’t want to satisfy their cravings? Furthermore, people from all around the world have settled in Vietnam. Thus, you can find various Vietnamese twists to the dishes that are found to be different in other parts of the world.
I was especially surprised when the noodles were served. It had some accompaniment or, should I say, garnishes. Included in the side dish were onions, chilli peppers, cilantro, lime, bean sprouts, and Thai basil. Since the owner noticed that I’m a foreigner and I didn’t know how to eat their type of noodles, she even mixed my food and demonstrated how to eat it. She didn’t use any words at all, only some actions. Even though she didn’t speak English, her methods to make me understand were effective.
Accommodation and food in Vietnam are cheap. These are the unavoidable expenses that you encounter in any travel. Not like itineraries, as you can skip some of them if you run out of budget.
With a budget range of 10-30 USD, you can already get a decent hostel to stay. And when it comes to food, you can get by with 10 USD a day. You can get Vietnamese Noodles for 1 USD and a Bahn Mi sandwich for 50 cents. This is really a budget saver for you.
4. Stunning Beauty
You will be captivated by the beauty of the different places in HCMC. The Ben Thanh Market provides different sounds and beauty as you do your shopping. They have different products such as clothing, accessories, souvenirs, and food. One thing I enjoyed in this place was testing and buying a National Costume named Ao Dai. The vendor told me that it is the dress you wear on the day of your wedding.
The Mekong Delta River, Notre Dame Cathedral, and Mui Ne Sand Dunes are the places I won’t forget as they really surprised me with their beauty.
