Move Into Your New Office With Style

Every small business owner knows that moving into your own building or office space is a huge step. Not only are you trying to get accustomed to your new surroundings, but your employees are trying to get their feet under them as well. If you find yourself moving into a new space, follow these tips to make sure that your office is welcoming and easy to navigate from the start.

  • Have Everything Ready To Go: Ideally, when you are moving into a new workspace, you will want to limit any downtime. Employees should come into work at the new office being able to work right away. To achieve this, you will want to have the office set up beforehand. Hire movers to move most, if not all, of your office materials to the new space. You may have to have your IT team work overtime, but make sure that all computers are set up and connected before your employees come into work. That way, all they have to do is login and begin working.
  • Prep Employees: The opposite side of having everything ready to go is to make sure your employees are ready to work on the first day. Prep them on new security measures that you will have, for both the building and tech. Be sure to inform the employees of directions to the new office, where they can park and any other relevant information prior to the move. The last thing that you want is confusion on move in day, when it will already be a stressful time.
  • Decorate at Will: Moving into a new office should be fun, so feel free to leave your mark on your new space. Coordinate with an interior designer to find the best look for your office. You may want to put plants in the lobby, hang pieces of art or photos (Groupon Discount Codes for Photobox can help you get the photos you want) around the office and conference rooms. You can even get your employees in on the action and solicit suggestions from them. You want your new space to feel like home, so do your best to make it as welcoming as possible.

Moving to a new office space is exciting for everyone. Save yourself some stress and plan out everything well in advance, that way, when your employees walk in they are ready and excited to get to work.
